ABOUT
Community Land Summit 2023
The Community Land Summit 2023 is co-convened by IMPACT Kenya and PARAN Alliance; in collaboration with other partners. This year’s theme focuses on Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender equality, women, youths’ autonomy in rangelands management, and sustainable pastoralist economy.
The Summit builds on the success of the two subsequent Community Land Summits in Kenya held in December 2021 and November 2022 in Nanyuki Town, Kenya.
Why Participate
PROVOCATIVE DISCUSSION
To discuss the available opportunities to advocate for inclusivity in land ownership, access, and control among the indigenous peoples and local communities.
ADVOCACY
To deliberate on the available mechanisms that can push for IPLCs tenure rights both in the regional and international arenas.
STRATEGIC COLLABORATIONS
To discuss responsible investments in community lands with effective benefit-sharing mechanisms.
INNOVATION
To provide a platform for women and youth to appreciate and explore opportunities for income-generating interventions in community lands.

Land Summit 2022
The Community Land Summit (CLS) brings together the voices of communities from the 24 counties with undissolved communal lands as identified by the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning.
The Community Land Summit is convened by IMPACT, NLC, PARAN Alliance Members, Natural Justice, Kenya Land Alliance, CLAN and other key actors in the implementation of the Community Land Act, 2016.
