ABOUT
Community Land Summit 2025
The 5th Edition of the Community Land Summit builds on the successes of previous years, bringing together Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) from across East Africa to harmonize their voices and collective asks on land rights and pastoralism.
This year’s Summit is strategically organized as a key build-up activity to the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralism (IYRP) global event in Mongolia in 2026. CLS 2025 is the premiere platform for pastoralist communities to dialogue on key regional issues, generate evidence-based policy proposals, and collectively formulate a powerful declaration for submission to governmental and global platforms like the UNIYRP.
